Spent a couple of days over Christmas 2020 at The Silo – and was exceptionally pleased with the experience. Firstly, the building, located just by the waterfront, has a unique industrial background, coupled with an truly amazing eclectic interior design with an African touch – a very charming combination. The rooms have extremely high ceilings and the windows run from floor to ceiling. The service was top-notch, as should be expected from a 5-star hotel, and food and spa was also very good. Especially appreciated the roof top pool and bar overlooking the entire city, probably the best view in Cape Town of the Table top Mountain and the city!”

Last summer, I had the opportunity to visit one of the most amazing hotels I’ve ever been to. The Silo Hotel in Cape Town, I visited this property in a family vacation since my grandparents reached a 50 year anniversary. We were 16 people in total and from the youngest to the oldest absolutely everyone loved the silo. All of the spaces inside the hotel are absolutely beautiful but not as great as the amazing service that it offers, the staff is very involved in the guest’s wishes and preferences. For instance I’m a big fan of hot chocolate so I ordered one in the hotel’s restaurant for breakfast (which is amazingly accommodated in the top floor) I mentioned to one of the staffs that I had loved it, the other day in our daily wake up call a warm hot coco was waiting for me in the rooms living room. The staff at silo are professional for making every moment a “wow moment” I will forever cherish my stay at this beautiful property.”
“When you travel, many elements will be remembered long after you return home. Sometimes, those things will be bad experiences, and you’ll always remember how you felt when it happened. But if you’re fortunate, you’ll return home with wonderful experiences, and it will be the memories of how you felt then that you’ll remember. Staying at The Silo is one of those wonderful experiences.
We were only fortunate enough to spend one night here, as we were already booked for travel onwards. But we were so glad we had the chance. From the moment we arrived, to the moment that we (sadly) left, we felt welcomed in the hotel like we were old friends. We were always greeted by name, and always made to feel special. The duty manager, Irene BoaVentura, and the GM Luis Pinheiro stood out as people who went out of their way to make our stay memorable.
The hotel is considered one of the finest luxury hotels in Africa, so I won’t dwell on that. It’s written about a lot already. But what stood out to me was how incredible the architecture and design was. The 6 floors of the hotel were all very high ceilinged, so every room feels big. The corner suite we stayed in felt massive. The bathroom was wonderful, bright and beautifully designed.
The pillowed windows were a design feature that was just as interesting from the inside as it was from the outside. Every room was decorated in a unique style that made you feel like you’re in a museum. Bedding was sumptuous, the living room seating was inviting. The welcome gift of bubbles and treats was a nice surprise, as was the open minibar. No small detail was missed.
Food and service in each of the restaurants was exceptional. Every waitperson was at the top of their game. It was clear that they enjoyed working at The Silo.
If you have the chance to stay at this hotel, you’ll be happy you did. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. But we’ll just have to return some day. And I bet they’ll remember my name.”

The rooms here offer extraordinary views of table mountain and the waterfront. Located on the waterfront within the old grain silos. Unique but wonderful. The service is tops in all regards. We got plenty of help and advice from the manager, staff, and concierge regarding things to do in the area, procuring rides, or setting up adventure. What great people at this hotel. The rooms are phenomenal as well. A super place to stay.

Visited for one night on the tail end of a trip to SA. It’s definitely to be repeated. The best way to describe this hotel is it’s sexy. The decor is eclectic. It’s fun, bright with amazing views. The window bays In the room are architectural marvels and this is what gives the place its character. Staff was superb friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent.

We want to deeply express the magnificence of your people – the people who make The Silo Hotel what it is. From parking our car at the entrance, to getting into our room, we received an incredible welcome – warm, personal, from porters to management – consistent, detailed, speedy and above all – a spirit of servitude that we have not quite experienced in our world travels.

Our lunch at the Granary Cafe is one which myself and husband will never forget. The service being the best we have experienced anywhere in the world. Warm friendly and so professional . Travelling from Australia we wanted something to remember Capetown and this was it. Not to mention our food which was so delicious. Our waiter went above and beyond to make our experience one we will never forget and I promise you we will never forget our lunch at the Silo.

We were staying as family at the The Silo. We were completly blown away by the quality of service, attention and the food. The view from the room is simply breathtaking. The rooms are luxuriously and tastefully furnished. A great place to stay in Cape Town. It is a boutique hotel and is the best choice for discerning travellers who are in search of hotels with unique and exclusive service. The Silo is #1 choice in Cape Town!!

This is not only probably the best hotel in Africa but one of the best in the world. Many harbor cities such as Sydney, San Francisco and others wish they had such a great hotel. Wonderful views, simply amazing rooms, interesting art everywhere, great location at the V&A Waterfront and outstanding service and attention to detail. Nick and the Silo team do a wonderful job. Plus try the rooftop bar and pool to unwind with Table Mountain view!

Many years ago we owned Cape Towns only floating restaurant, I would pass the old Silos on my cruises and dream of what could be done with the old building. Not in my wildest dreams did I think what was done was possible. What a brilliant concept! We just loved everything about this property.

Perfect Perfect Perfect Perfect Perfect. We are on the 8th floor and the room is phenomenal. The view offers both ocean and mountain scene. I am at a loss for words. The reception we received was warm and extremely efficient. It’s difficult to find anything out of place here.

If it isn’t yet, the Silo ought to be a landmark in Cape Town and possibly the sexiest hotel in the world. The Hotel is remarkable – the extraordinary architecture and interior decoration, spacious, modern and uniquely adorned guestrooms and public areas and wonderful staff and management. Definitely, one of the top luxury hotels in the world!

Cape Town’s best hotel room. The whole place is so aesthetically pleasing. If you’re a millennial like me and want perfect Instagram views, you will be satisfied! Staff is very attentive and that rooftop pool is 10/10.

I am lucky to travel all over the world both privately and for business staying at hotels like the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, One & Only. The Silo can match any of these hotels. The service was great, the room with the beautiful designed Heatherwick windows in this historic building was among the best we have stayed at. Furthermore the local art inspired feeling and soul of the Silo you have created was very special and not something we have experienced elsewhere. We also bought a bottle of La Residence red wine from the hotel for Natalie which we all enjoyed with pleasure. Thank you for a great experience.
