Fitness And Fresh Air
At The Silo Hotel
Beachfront biking followed by a chilled plunge in turquoise tidal pools, or meandering climbs through the fynbos-covered mountainside rising alongside the Atlantic ocean; exercising in Cape Town has you spoilt for choice.
Track Or Trail Running
Running routes in Cape Town are scented by the sea or the forest. If you’re a road runner and thrive off the city’s energy, you’ll love the sidewalk running tracks that weave through our local V&A Waterfront area.
If you’re looking for a trail to run, look no further than the local trail running community – there are many routes of varying terrain following the forest tracks at the base of Table Mountain. Our concierge will have the details for you and will connect you with a running group or a guide so that you don’t navigate these nature trails alone.
Meandering Mountain Paths
Taking a slow meander along some of Cape Town’s many hiking trails and mountain paths is one way to get accustomed with the city’s urban nature scene. For quick and easy access to a sea view while you walk, stroll along the Sea Point promenade, or go off the beaten track on the trails of varying degrees of difficulty.
Trails stretch from the city bowl all the way south along the peninsula’s mountain range, forever overlooking the sea. These designated trails are best undertaken with a guide or in groups for safety.
Biking And Cycling
Road cycling and mountain biking are very popular among locals because of the variety of routes and beautiful views. Cape Town is home to the annual Argus Cycle Tour – one of the most beautiful organised cycle races across the globe. Off-road mountain biking is equally celebrated with routes ranging in levels of technicality.
We are all too happy to guide you to make sure you get what you want out of your holiday cycling. We can arrange for bicycles to be delivered to the hotel if you would like to rent a bike during your stay.
Time to tee-off
Spending quality time on the golf course has never looked as good as it does in the shade of Table Mountain in the city that has hosted over 10 years of South African Opens. Cape Town is home to some of the country’s most scenic greens, its oldest championship golf course – the Royal Cape.
Steenberg Golf Estate located at a working world-class winery brings luxury into focus both on and off the course, while Clovelly Golf Club on the southern peninsula with its sea air and varied course adds excitement and unexpected charm to a game of golf.
