Game drives form the basic rhythm of the day on safari. You’ll find – like us – that to be out in the fresh air as the sun rises and sets is to be realigned with a pattern of deep and ancient significance. On a game drive, your senses sharpen and your excitement grows as you draw close to some of the planet’s most remarkable animals, including the species in the Big 5, which are the most anticipated and exciting animals to get close to.
You can track your favourite animal or stop to investigate birds, flowers, or trees that you love most. You will engage with the landscape even more intimately, and draw from the knowledge of our award-winning guiding team.
Specialist safari vehicles
Our specialised game drive vehicles ensure that your wildlife viewing experience is as good as it gets. The spaciousness and added extras of our top-of-the-range cruisers afford ample space for photographic equipment and luxurious comfort.
Your Tracker has a seat right at the front of the vehicle so that their eyes hit the fresh tracks first. You’ll be blown away by how their trained vision and years of experience allow them to see signs and markings in the sand at a speed.
Book a private safari vehicle
If you would like to book a private safari vehicle for just you and your pack, speak to our reservations team prior to your travel dates so that we can ensure availability. Having a vehicle for your own exclusive use adds an even more personal touch and lets you enjoy the drive at your own pace. A Guide and Tracker will be dedicated to you and will tailor the experience for you and your group.
This comes at an extra fee unless you are booked into our Royal Suites or our private villa, Africa House, where a private vehicle, Guide, and Tracker are part of the whole exclusive experience.
