A cocktail of unique experiences not to be missed

Situated on the sixth floor of The Silo Hotel, The Willaston Bar is named after the first ship to export grain from the original silo complex back in 1924, The SS Willaston.

With stunning views of Cape Town through the 5,5m high pillowed glass windows, there is no better place to enjoy a classic cocktail or a glass of wine from the carefully crafted and ever evolving list of local and international wines.

While there are numerous reasons to visit The Silo Hotel’s Willaston Bar, we’ve come up with five fun reasons you should join us for a drink or bite to eat soon!

Crafted Cocktails

From our Rose Ginvino to our Kalahari Safari, there’s a cocktail here for everyone. Whether you’re after something complex and intriguing, or simply an old favorite done right, The Willaston Bar has it all.

With a selection of over 40 gins, and a vast selection of local and international wines available by the glass, you’re bound to find something you love.

Exquisite Interiors

The redeveloped building is a beautifully contrasted mixture of historic infrastructure and modern design. This stark contrast between old and new is augmented by Liz Biden’s lively and eclectic style of interior design, a quirky distinction from the cold, raw feel of the building’s exterior. Drawing inspiration from her travels around the world, Liz has acquired a unique and varied collection of art and interior artefacts. Liz will often incorporate foreign inspiration into local industries by commissioning local artists and designers to help produce her visionary interiors.

The teal stools made from soft Italian leather were manufactured locally, as have the beautiful soft velvet sofas. The circular chandeliers are inspired by the steel rings originally used inside the grain elevator. Kick back and relax as you sip on a drink and take in the sumptuous, sexy interiors.

Show Off Scenery

It’s no secret that Cape Town is one of, if not the most, beautiful cities in the world. Situated in the heart of Cape Town, The Willaston Bar’s high vantage point certainly supports our spectacular city as it shows off its seductive scenery.

Whether you’re peering down at the open top busses as they decant their tourists into the hustle and bustle of the silo precinct, or gazing in awe at the golden hues as the sun slides behind Signal Hill, you certainly won’t get tired of the spectacular sights.

Dress To Impress

Fashion fundis feast your eyes, you’re bound to spot a chic and savvy visitor during your time at The Silo Hotel.  Whether it’s a decadent, dapper man in a suit, or a sophisticated, suave young lady, The Willaston Bar has certainly seen its fair share of style. Situated above Zeitz MOCAA, this trendy space often attracts cutting edge fashionistas cooling off over a cold cocktail after an afternoon of contemporary Africa art.

Instagram It

The conglomerate of cocktails, colorful interiors, chic style, and spectacular views through the celebrated convex windows, means that this unique space is undeniably “Instagrammable”. This visual vanguard for stylish social media posts has certainly attracted a great deal of Instagram interest, luring visitors from near and afar in search of that perfect ‘selfie’. Tag The Silo Hotel and use the #TRPLife for a chance to feature on our social wall.

Please note that reservations are not possible at The Willaston Bar, and availability depends on both in-house and public occupancy.
