Royal Rangers Club
Royal MalewaneRoyal Rangers Club
Waterside’s family focus is about creating excitement for young minds and encouraging kids to learn about nature through the fun and interactive activities of our Royal Rangers Club.
The Royal Rangers Club is all about making children feel like they are on an African adventure, discovering new things about the wild and learning how to do what our Guides and Trackers do. Designed for ages all the way up from four years old, the Royal Rangers Club is a collection of activities that teach bush skills, encourage creativity, and deepen kids’ connection with the bush.
There are quizzes and prizes and tokens of achievement, and special Royal Rangers Club gear that kids can take home to keep. Depending on the ages of your little ones, fun activities can be adjusted to be as engaging and entertaining as possible, and parents can be assured that their little explorers are making memories of Africa to last a lifetime!
What activities are included in the Royal Rangers Club?
Kids can choose to do the Royal Rangers Club activities when they arrive at Waterside and see what it’s all about. Julia will run our lodge-based activities, which range from arts and crafts, cooking and baking, and outdoor excursions like making moulds from tracks and finding frogs and insects.
There are also lessons in finding and identifying exciting animal tracks in the bush for kids during game drives, which our Guides will lead.
Royal Rangers will get to explore on foot with their Guide and search for different tracks and scat for the animals referenced in their safari guide booklets. There are two age groups for the tracking activity to keep it exciting for all young minds: Junior level Royal Rangers are from 7-11 years of age, and Adventure level Royal Rangers are from 12-18. There is also a fun bush quiz to test what our young explorers learn on safari, and of course there’s a certificate of achievement to take home in the end!
