Limited Social Contact

South Africa is a beautiful destination with vast open spaces and great natural beauty – the perfect tonic to the pandemic. The Royal Portfolio’s properties are located in iconic South African destinations and each offers the highest levels of privacy, security, hygiene and service.

Whether you are seeking the peace and remoteness of the African bush at Royal Malewane, the Champagne air of the seaside at Birkenhead House, a stroll through the gardens and vineyards of La Residence or a sanctuary in the centre of Cape Town at The Silo Hotel, you can rest assured that we have taken every precaution to protect our guests and our staff.

What Happens If You Contract Covid In South Africa Or Need A Covid Test?

At The Royal Portfolio we are committed to the safety and wellbeing of each of our guests. In the event of a guest testing positive for Covid-19 while staying at one of our properties, we will do everything possible to ensure the guest is properly cared for.

South Africa has one of the best private health care systems in the world with state-of-the-art hospitals located in close proximity to each of our hotels and lodges. South Africa has one of the lowest Covid-19 mortality rates in the world. Our hospitals have coped with the pandemic and capacity has never been overwhelmed. We are able to get any guest to a private hospital within an hour. At Royal Malewane in the Greater Kruger National Park, we also have a qualified medical professional on site.

Should travel plans need to change due to a positive test or due to a change in the regulations while travelling, our expert reservations team is on hand in South Africa to assist with all travel arrangements giving guests complete peace of mind.

Travellers departing South Africa from OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg can get tested and collect their certificate at the airport prior to departure.
